Built in 1952, the Sarasota Classic Car Museum is the 3rd oldest automobile museum in the United States. The museum hosts three primary exhibits within the 60,000 square feet of roofed space. Specialized docents can take you on a guided tour of the museum or you may look at your own leisure. The automobile exhibit has over 100 automobiles and spans nearly ten decades of automotive history, beginning with the horseless carriage.
Almost every letter of the alphabet is covered: Auburn, Bentley, Cadillac station wagon (one of only 5 ever made), DeLorean, Edsel, Ferrari, etc. Vintage, classic, muscle, exotic cars….they’re all here. The historical music exhibit is full of wonderful musical instruments dating back from the 1870s. Here patrons will find player pianos, nickelodeons, and disk and cylinder music boxes.
